- Water Service Maintenance
Description
The City of DeKalb, IL is looking to hire a Water Service Maintenance employee to join our team. This position will perform manual maintenance on water mains, well houses, water treatment facilities, buildings, grounds, meters, fire hydrants, and other waterrelated infrastructure. This role also supports general public works tasks as needed. Responsibilities include responding to scheduled callout rotations and emergency requests for JULIE locates, customer service issues, water distribution repairs, and weatherrelated incidents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Possession of a Class B Illinois Public Water Supply Operator Certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Possession of a valid Illinois CDL Class B permit within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to obtain an Illinois CDL Class B license within an agreedupon timeframe (estimated six months).
- Ability to obtain tanker endorsement as requested.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in water mains maintenance, well houses, water treatment plants, meter reading and installation, fire hydrant maintenance, building and grounds upkeep, street maintenance, snow removal, sewer maintenance, equipment maintenance, traffic control, airport maintenance, or related work.
