Description
Step into a leadership role at the heart of international payment operations. You will lead a team, strengthen controls, and improve how payments are processed across borders.As an Associate (Team Lead) within Cash Management Operations, you will lead a team responsible for accurate, compliant, and efficient payment processing. You will manage daily operations, maintain strong regulatory controls, and drive workflow improvements to reduce errors and processing times. You will partner with teams across compliance, product, client service, sales, and regional hubs to keep operations running smoothly. This role also positions you as the direct backup to the Payment Operations Head, placing you in the succession pipeline for that leadership role.
Job responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of payment specialists, providing coaching, training, and day-to-day support.
- Oversee daily payment processing, including transaction monitoring, verification, and settlement, in line with procedures and service level agreements.
- Maintain compliance controls for anti-money laundering, know your customer, and sanctions screening requirements.
- Review and improve payment workflows to reduce errors and processing times, using automation where possible.
- Identify and manage operational risks related to overseas payments, including fraud and foreign exchange exposure.
- Partner with compliance, product, client services, sales, and regional teams to resolve issues and align on priorities.
- Track key performance indicators, analyze trends, and take action to improve operational outcomes.
- Prepare clear, regular reports on volumes, errors, and performance for management decision-making.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and update policies and procedures as needed.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in payment processing, with a focus on international payments.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Good knowledge of international payment systems, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound decision-making ability.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across functions and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Proficiency with payment platforms, financial systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with Alteryx and/or Xceptor.
