- Urgent Care Veterinarian
Description
Are you an experienced Urgent Care or Critical Care Veterinarian who wants to do more than step into an established position?
We are looking for the right veterinarian to help us build and develop a new urgent care service within our veterinary practice in Falmouth, Massachusetts.
This is an opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys emergency and urgent care medicine and is interested in having a meaningful role in developing a service from the ground up—including helping shape protocols, equipment needs, workflow, staffing, scheduling, and the overall vision for the department.
The Opportunity
We are developing a new Urgent Care service designed to provide high-quality, timely veterinary care for patients who need attention beyond routine appointments but may not require referral to a 24-hour specialty or emergency hospital.
We are seeking a veterinarian who can bring clinical experience, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial mindset to the project.
Depending on experience, interests, and mutual fit, the role may include:
Providing urgent and same-day veterinary care
Managing medical and surgical urgent-care cases
Stabilizing critical patients and determining appropriate referral when necessary
Developing urgent-care protocols and standards
Helping determine equipment and facility needs
Establishing efficient patient-flow and treatment workflows
Participating in hiring and mentoring the urgent-care team
Helping develop scheduling and service hours
Working collaboratively with the existing veterinary team
Building relationships with local veterinary hospitals and referral centers
Helping develop and grow the urgent-care service over time
Potential Ownership Opportunity
For the right veterinarian, we are open to discussing an opportunity to buy into the practice and become a practice owner/partner.
This is not simply a position for someone looking for a job. We are interested in finding a veterinarian who may want to become a long-term partner in developing and growing the practice.
The ownership opportunity would be based on experience, interests, investment, and mutual fit, and would be discussed privately with qualified candidates.
Why Falmouth?
Falmouth offers an exceptional setting on Cape Cod, with a strong year-round community and a significant seasonal population.
This position offers the opportunity to practice high-quality medicine in a coastal Massachusetts community while helping establish a new veterinary service that can serve Falmouth and the surrounding Cape Cod area.
This Could Be the Right Opportunity If...
You have reached a point in your career where you are thinking:
"I'd like to build something rather than simply take another job."
If you are an experienced urgent care or critical care veterinarian who would like to have a voice in how a new service is developed—and potentially become an owner—I'd like to talk with you.
