Description
Job DescriptionAs Technical Project Manager (Engineering, Architecture & Operations) you will lead structured project delivery and technical coordination for a portfolio of Infrastructure & Operations initiatives within Hapag-Lloyd's IT transformation and infrastructure modernization program. You will translate strategic objectives into executable plans, ensure transparency on progress and risks, and drive aligned execution across technical teams, initiative owners and senior stakeholders. You will work closely with the Head of EAO Portfolio & Transformation Program Management, EAO directors, architects, platform teams and initiative leads to secure clarity, alignment and delivery quality on complex technical projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, coordination and execution of strategic technical transformation initiatives (initial focus: Data Centre & Availability programs)
- Provide end-to-end technical project leadership: align scope, coordinate cross-functional teams, track milestones, and drive follow-up on decisions and actions
- Maintain transparent project artefacts (plans, roadmaps, RAID logs, portfolio overviews) using Jira, Confluence, LeanIX, SharePoint and Excel
- Manage dependencies across infrastructure, applications, architecture and business teams to ensure smooth delivery
- Create executive-ready reporting (dashboards, one-pagers, decision papers) for program reviews, SteerCos, director interlocks and quarterly planning
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, blockers and cross-project dependencies together with initiative owners
- Strengthen portfolio governance and continuously improve ways of working, tooling, reporting automation and maturity tracking
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in technical project management, IT project coordination, PMO or program delivery in complex IT environments
- Proven track record in leading infrastructure modernization initiatives (e.g., mainframe, midrange, cloud or data center/ infrastructure transformation)
- Strong capability to structure delivery plans, manage dependencies, and translate complex technical topics into clear, actionable management updates
- Hands-on experience preparing dashboards, SteerCo materials, executive updates and decision papers
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Excel and comparable project reporting/ tooling
- Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, Lean or hybrid delivery models; experience working across business and IT in matrixed/ international organizations
- Structured, execution-oriented and collaborative personality with strong communication skills, confidence in driving follow-ups/ ownership, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and changing priorities
