Position Summary
The Philanthropy Officer is responsible for cultivating and growing individual giving at Bellevue Schools Foundation, including major donors, mid-level donors, and annual individual contributions. This role builds meaningful relationships with donors and prospects to advance the Foundation’s mission and supports fundraising initiatives associated with the Spring for Schools gala.
This is a relationship-focused fundraising role with shared responsibility for donor stewardship and revenue growth.
Primary Responsibilities
Individual Giving Strategy and Relationship Management
- Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, including major and mid-level donors
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors to increase philanthropic support
- Oversee our monthly giving program
- Conduct donor meetings, calls, and personalized outreach
- Partner with and support the Executive Director and Board members on major donor strategy and execution
- Support donor recognition and stewardship initiatives
Annual Campaign and Appeals Support
- Collaborate with the Annual Campaign Officer on individual giving campaigns
- Support messaging and outreach for annual appeals and giving initiatives
- Assist with donor segmentation and engagement strategies
Spring for Schools Gala Support
- Support donor cultivation tied to gala participation and giving
- Assist with table captain engagement and donor follow-up
- Participate in sponsorship and auction donor stewardship as needed
Collaboration and Reporting
- Maintain accurate donor records and activity tracking in CRM
- Collaborate with development team members to align outreach and strategy
- Provide updates for board and committee reports
Requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of nonprofit fundraising or relationship management experience preferred
- Demonstrated success building relationships and securing gifts
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with CRM systems preferred
