Overview:

Sentara is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician I for the Commercial Pharmacy Services team in Virginia Beach, VA.

Location: Sentara Independence, Virginia Beach, VA

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating

The Pharmacy Technician p erforms care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

Education

• HS Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  

Licensure/Certification

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required) and CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
  

Experience

• Previous pharmacy experience (Preferred)
