Nephrologist – Independent Private Practice
New Haven, Connecticut
A well-established, fully independent private nephrology practice in the New Haven area is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Nephrologist to join our group.
This position offers the autonomy, long-term earning potential, and opportunity for ownership that come with independent physician owned practice, while maintaining strong relationships with local teaching institutions and providing meaningful opportunities to participate in medical education.
Our group provides comprehensive nephrology care throughout the New Haven area, including inpatient nephrology at a tertiary care center, outpatient CKD, hypertension, nephrolithiasis, glomerulonephritis, fluid/electrolytes disorders, and dialysis care, including in-center hemodialysis and home modalities. The position offers a diverse clinical experience with the opportunity to develop long-term patient relationships and build an individual practice within an established and supportive group.
Physicians have opportunities to work with and teach medical students, residents, and nephrology fellows while maintaining the professional autonomy of private practice. For candidates who enjoy teaching but prefer physician ownership over hospital employment, the position provides an opportunity to pursue both.

Candidate
We are seeking a BC/BE Nephrologist interested in developing a long-term career in independent nephrology practice. The ideal candidate will value clinical autonomy, collegiality, continuity of care, and the opportunity to participate in the continued growth and ownership of the practice.
An interest in teaching and medical education is welcomed, with opportunities to work with learners at multiple stages of training.
This position is particularly well suited for a nephrologist seeking the autonomy and ownership potential of true private practice without giving up the teaching and academic involvement often associated with hospital-employed positions.
Requirements
Candidate Requirements
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and Nephrology fellowship
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored visa sponsorship
- Eligible for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license
- Eligible for hospital medical staff privileges and credentialing
- DEA registration or eligibility to obtain registration
- Eligible to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance programs
- Strong clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Interest in collaborative private practice and developing a long-term career with the group
- Interest in medical education and teaching medical students, residents, and nephrology fellows is welcomed
- Both graduating nephrology fellows and experienced practicing nephrologists are encouraged to apply
