Laboratory Manager I
Med-Pathology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26004835)
Job Summary
Manages day-to-day laboratory operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Works with, adapts, and installs scientific equipment in research laboratories. Collaborates on routine projects and procedures. Manages inventory and equipment and performs budget functions.
Essential Functions
- Perform a variety of laboratory experiments such as imaging, histology, molecular and cellular techniques, small animal surgical procedures, and cell culture-related techniques
- Perform related technical functions, testing, troubleshooting, analysis, and ensure conformity to protocol specifications
- Oversee management of laboratory supplies including ordering, procurement, tracking estimates, and receiving items
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, clean and test sterility of applicable laboratory equipment related to job functions
- Keep detailed, accurate, and timely data and log books to organize and document results
- Contribute to laboratory publications, research presentations, and funding applications
Physical Effort
Incumbent must be able to stand to perform duties. Some walking is necessary between laboratories of collaborators.
