Description
Position DescriptionThe Investment Specialist (Bond Focused) to support the fixed income product line in our CSI Wealth Management (WM) Business. This position will be responsible for managing the end‑to‑end product cycle - from product selection and due diligence to marketing and client servicing. The role involves delivering timely market ideas, conducting regular reviews of fixed incomes, and providing technical and commercial support to sales team and clients. You will play a critical part in driving the brokerage and advisory business, while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Drive the fixed income brokerage business while delivering strong investment and commercial results.
- Present and recommend timely fixed income ideas aligned with market views and prevailing conditions in internal meetings and external forums.
- Conduct thorough product due diligence and periodic reviews of fixed income offerings in accordance with the prevailing regulatory framework.
- Coordinate solicited trades and facilitate execution‑only transactions, ensuring sales process integrity and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare product onboarding and marketing materials (e.g. Key Information Disclosure Documents, teasers, brochures, pitch books) and obtain necessary approvals from relevant stakeholders, including Compliance, Legal, and Risk.
- Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders - including sales team and counterparties - to identify business needs and support client engagement.
- Provide market updates, product training, and after‑sales support to sales teams, and respond to inquiries on fixed income products, including preparing bespoke pitches tailored to client needs.
- Publish regular fixed income market commentaries and maintain a fixed income focus list with performance tracking.
- Act as a key business stakeholder, providing advice and ongoing support on fixed income trading platform upgrades and system enhancements.
Requirements
- Degree or above with major in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related disciplines, professional qualification of CFA, FRM, and/or CPA is highly desired.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in financial institution with a strong focus on equity advisory and/or portfolio management. Experience in private banking (PB)/ private wealth management (WM) field is a must.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel. Knowledge of VBA and other financial modelling tools is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a proactive attitude and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Team player with strong presentation, analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
- Solid of written and spoken abilities in English and Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese) is a must.
- Candidate with less experience might also be considered.
