Qualifications
Interior Designer (NCIDQ) Dallas, TX | Own the Design. Lead the Work. Grow Your Impact.
At RS&H, design isn't just about aesthetics—it's about shaping environments that perform, inspire, and elevate everyday experiences. In Dallas, one of the fastest-growing and most opportunity-rich markets in the country, our Buildings team is doing exactly that across corporate, healthcare, and emerging sectors.
We're looking for an Interior Designer who's ready for more than production work—someone who wants true ownership, design autonomy, and the opportunity to lead projects from day one.
Why This Role Stands Out
This isn't a role where you're just executing someone else's vision. At RS&H, our team operates with independence and trust—giving you the space to think, create, and lead.
Here, you'll:
- Own the interior design scope on many projects—leading decisions, not just supporting them
- Work across a balanced mix of project types, including corporate workplaces, healthcare environments, and retail banking spaces
- Be part of a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team with architecture and engineering in-house
- Gain exposure to projects across Texas and nationally, with opportunities for site visits and real-world impact
- Join a team that's intentionally building its next generation of design leaders
What You'll Do
You'll be involved across the entire project lifecycle, with the opportunity to lead interior design efforts on projects of varying size and complexity. Success in this role means being able to step in, take ownership, and deliver—whether independently or as part of a team.
- Take projects from programming and space planning through construction administration
- Lead the interior design scope independently on many projects, while collaborating on larger efforts
- Develop design concepts that balance creativity, performance, and client goals
- Produce and oversee construction documentation, specifications, and renderings
- Present design ideas to clients and internal teams with clarity and confidence
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and consultants to deliver fully integrated solutions
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and site visits
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers
What You Bring
We're looking for someone in that 510 year sweet spot—experienced enough to lead, but still eager to grow.
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture (CIDA-accredited preferred)
- NCIDQ certification (preferred) or actively pursuing licensure
- 5+ years of experience in commercial interior design (corporate, healthcare, or similar)
- Strong expertise in construction documentation and technical detailing
- Proficiency in Revit and rendering tools (Enscape preferred)
- Ability to own projects, make decisions, and collaborate across disciplines
- Strong communication skills and comfort engaging with clients
- A mindset geared toward mentorship, growth, and continuous improvement
How You'll Work
- Hybrid environment: 3 days in-office, with flexibility for remote work
- Independent ownership within the interiors team, paired with tight collaboration across architecture and engineering
- Exposure to multiple project types and clients, with the ability to expand your experience over time
- Opportunities for local and occasional national travel for site visits and construction support
Why RS&H
- Design with autonomy—your ideas don't sit on the sidelines
- Work in a fully integrated A/E environment where interiors is a key voice at the table
- Be part of a growing Dallas team with real opportunities to step into leadership
- Build a career path toward Senior Designer and Project Management roles
- Join an employee-owned firm where your contributions directly impact success
Benefits That Support You
- Competitive compensation
- Flexible hybrid work environment
- Generous PTO and paid holidays
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with company contribution
- Ongoing support for professional development and licensure
