Description

A well-established single family office based in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its growing in-house legal function. This is a rare opportunity to work in a sophisticated private wealth environment with direct exposure to principals and investment teams.

The Role

Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for:

1. Reviewing and negotiating fund subscription documents across a diverse portfolio (hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, private credit)
2. Providing legal coverage across the family office's investment activities and operational matters
3. Handling side letters, NDAs, ISDAs, and related investment documentation
4. Supporting legal and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions
5. Working closely with investment, compliance, and operations teams
6. Liaising with external counsel where required

What We're Looking For

1. 4-6 years PQE, with strong foundational training from a reputable law firm (Magic Circle, US firm, or top regional firm preferred)
2. 1-2 years of subsequent in-house experience at a family office, asset manager, hedge fund, or private investment firm
3. Demonstrable experience reviewing fund subscription documents is essential
4. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required (both written and spoken)
5. Hong Kong qualified preferred; other common law jurisdictions considered
6. Strong commercial judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously in a lean team
