Operating across large-scale solar, wind and energy storage, the company has multiple assets in operation and a significant pipeline under development.

Your new role
In this newly created role, you will act as 2IC to the CFO, taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function and supporting the business through its next phase of growth.

• Manage end-to-end accounting, tax, audit and treasury for Australian entities within a small local finance team
• Ensure accounting is prepared with a strong Australian tax focus, aligning financials with tax positions and requirements
• Act as the primary finance contact for external tax advisors and auditors, working closely with overseas Group Tax and Transfer Pricing teams
• Oversee company tax matters, including corporate tax, GST, capital gains tax and stamp duty
• Lead period-end reporting, including monthly reviews and detailed quarterly closes (PPAs, interest rate swaps, derivatives, depreciation and balance sheet reviews)
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Australian GAAP and statutory obligations, including documentation and audit readiness
• Manage reporting into Group consolidation / HQ, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee AP/AR processes, bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions across multiple entities
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and statutory authorities
• Drive process improvements and efficiencies across finance and reporting activities

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be CA or CPA qualified with strong experience in technical accounting and Australian tax. You will be comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment within a growing, project-based business.
Background experience from a commercial organisation or an advisory role within a Big 4 or mid-tier firm will be highly regarded. You will bring 2-3 years' experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior accounting role, with the capability to operate autonomously while partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders.
