Legal Finance Manager | Gold Coast (Hybrid). Lead trust & financial operations in a boutique firm. Your new companyThis boutique law firm operates across the Gold Coast and Brisbane, specialising in retirement living, property, commercial, and estate law. Your new role
As the Legal Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the firm's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across both trust and office accounting functions.This is a hands-on and varied position, combining financial reporting, compliance oversight, and process improvement, while acting as a key advisor to leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, KPI reporting) with clear commentary and analysis
- Management of multi-entity accounting and reporting
- Budget preparation and ongoing financial monitoring
- Oversight of trust accounting processes, including receipting and payments
- Daily and monthly trust account reconciliations
- Management of billing, invoicing, and debtor control
- Bank reconciliations across trust and office accounts
- Ensuring compliance with legal trust accounting regulations
- Preparation for and coordination of trust account audits (including QLS requirements)
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors
- BAS preparation and reconciliation
- Payroll processing, including STP and PAYG obligations
- Supporting year-end financial procedures and reporting
- Assisting with Professional Indemnity Insurance renewals
- Proven experience in a legal finance or trust accounting role
- Strong understanding of legal trust accounting requirements
- High attention to detail with strong time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in accounting and practice management systems
- Experience with Xero, Smokeball, or Employment Hero
- Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Business
