JOB OVERVIEW
The Client Transitions Analyst ("CTA") is a member of the APAC Client Operations team, part of the broader Global Operations group. The role supports the execution of client transition events.
The CTA supports the operational execution of new mandate fundings, terminations, asset-in-kind flows, and product or portfolio changes, with a strong focus on operational risk management and control. The role works closely with Client Group teams, Client Integration Managers, Investment Services, Technology, and other functional partners to deliver a consistent and well-controlled transition experience. This includes acting as an operational liaison across internal teams and coordinating extensively with external parties such as custodian banks, third-party administrators, outsourcing providers, vendors, and transition managers. A significant portion of the role involves cross-functional coordination and communication to ensure transition events are executed accurately, on time, and in line with the firm's risk framework.
The role is inherently cross-functional and varied, requiring strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound judgment, a collaborative mindset, and a practical approach to improving complex operational processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the end-to-end operational lifecycle of client and portfolio accounts, including account openings, restructurings, closures, and ongoing maintenance across internal reporting, compliance, and operational systems.
- Coordinate the timely and accurate delivery of account opening and transition documentation, including custodial and market openings, internal and external connectivity, and execution of asset-in-kind processing.
- Initiate, review, and approve account and portfolio set-ups, ensuring appropriate controls are applied, including the accurate use of internal trade restriction flags.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external counterparties, including custodians, vendors, and service providers, to ensure effective and well-controlled delivery of operational services.
- Identify and implement process improvements, controls, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency, quality, scalability, and risk management.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and solutions aligned to the firm's operating model and risk framework.
- Leverage regional expertise, including knowledge of APAC market practices and regulatory expectations, to deliver an operating model appropriate for local client needs.
- 4-6 years of experience in the financial services industry, with working knowledge of investment management operations and custodian bank processes.
- Experience in investment operations, including custody and accounting/recordkeeping; exposure to operational risk management environments preferred.
- Solid understanding of capital markets operations, foreign exchange transactions, and their impact on recordkeeping and client portfolios.
- Knowledge of local regulatory regimes and associated operational and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities effectively.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with global stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner effectively across functions and regions.
- Advanced degrees, language skills, and/or progress toward the CFA designation viewed favorably.
- Experience using productivity, automation, or low-code tools (e.g., Copilot, Power Automate, Python, HighGear, Alteryx) is advantageous.
