American Public Works Association (APWA) serves professionals in all aspects of public works by providing innovative education and credentialing opportunities for professional development. The Education and Credentialing department is seeking an experienced Certification Manager to join the team. This role will manage the association’s professional certificate programs and stackable credential offerings.
About the Certification Manager Role:
This position manages APWA's credentialing programs, including professional certifications and stackable credentials, ensuring the quality, integrity, visibility, and ongoing relevance of APWA's credentialing offerings. The position is responsible for program development, operational effectiveness, and strategic growth initiatives that expand participation, strengthen industry recognition, and support the evolving needs of the public works profession.
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. They should be customer/member service oriented, and be able to effectively work with volunteers, vendors, and staff. Knowledge of credentialing best practices and NCCA standards is preferred.

Requirements
What You Will Need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s degree;
4 years of experience in certification or credentialing program management;
Comfortable writing and presenting;
Knowledge of credentialing best practices and NCCA standards;
Association experience preferred.
