The Boston office of Berman Tabacco is seeking an associate with 2 to 5 years of experience in complex litigation.
We investigate and originate cutting-edge securities class actions, shareholder derivative actions, and other litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country, typically serving as lead or co-lead counsel. We work collaboratively with each other and with co-counsel to aggressively prosecute cases toward favorable resolutions for our clients and the classes they represent. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute to one or more phases of a case immediately and be interested in ultimately participating in all phases, from origination to resolution.
Core Responsibilities include:
- Help investigate new securities and derivative actions and other potential litigation.
- Conduct detailed factual and legal research to support potential and existing cases.
- Draft pleadings, memoranda, and dispositive motions.
- Assist with discovery.
- Help prepare for hearings and trials.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- JD with 2-5 years of sophisticated litigation experience at a major law firm, judicial clerkship, government agency, or public interest organization.
- Superior research, writing, and oral communication skills
- A strong academic background and a demonstrated interest in both the Firm’s practice areas and its mission.
Salary range: $140,000 to $200,000, commensurate with experience.
