Description
OverviewThis full-time position is designed to run the golf shop, ensure guest satisfaction, run member events, and support the overall golf operation.
Experience Required
- PGA Member or Level 2 Apprentice or higher preferred.
Essential Responsibilities
- Administers point-of-sale application revisions and needs related to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member and guest billing; coordinates with Accounting on policy and procedure updates and implementation.
- Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-ins, receives payments from members and guests, resolves payment discrepancies, and tracks force posts and no-show charges.
- Initiates and promotes club golf activities.
- Creates lesson plans and provides both individual and group instruction.
- Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop; assists with procurement, merchandising, and sales.
- Supervises preparations for golf outings, including scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets, and hole assignments.
- Monitors members' scores, reports handicapping to the USGA, and bills members.
- Assists the Manager with interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, and resolving complaints and problems.
- Assists in managing department team members, including Starters, Player Assistants, and Guest Services Attendants.
- Ensures effective orientation and training for new associates and assists in developing ongoing training programs.
- Assists in monitoring business volume forecasts and planning for manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
- Implements and maintains excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Conducts staff meetings with subordinates.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Performs other duties as required.
