The W. Bancroft Timmons and George Cobb original course was redesigned by Bill Bergin in 2010. Patton Creek meanders through the 6,900 yard, 18-hole championship course providing golfers of all abilities a fair yet challenging test of their game. Tee to green favors shots from right-to-left, while working the ball both ways is required. Short games are tested with deep collection areas surrounding the undulating, bent grass greens. The walk-able, well manicured course offers Members of HCC the ability enjoy the game of golf at it's full potential.

Essential Responsibilities

Position Concept:
The Assistant Golf Professional position will assist the Hoover Country Club Management Team in all areas not limited to; the management of daily golf operations including managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, supervising and scheduling bag staff, management of practice facility, bag room, and cart barn, assisting with merchandising functions, acting as point golf professional for golf groups, teaching lessons, assist with junior golf programs, and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience to our members and guests.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Work towards completing the requirements of PGA membership and maintain an active classification in the PGA of America at a brisk pace.
• Supervise and manage the total golf operations in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the Director of Golf.
• Provide excellent customer services, professional advice and assistance to all patrons.
• Manage the club repair program.
• Manage the custom club fitting program.
• Control and manage play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection.
• Assist in managing the total operation of the practice facility.
• Assist in managing the golf car storage area, bag room, and locker room.
• Work in coordination with golf groups in the management of their events.
• Provide golf instruction and clinics that is consistent with instructional methods, policies and procedures set forth by the Director of Instruction.
• Supervise and train golf operations personnel as directed by the Director of Golf.
• Assist in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory, control, promotion, and sales of merchandise.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times consistent with PGA standards.
• Be informed on and promote all club activities and services.
• Assist in management of the GHIN Handicap program.
• Assist in managing tournaments and outings.
• In coordination with the Director of Instruction conduct and maintain a successful Junior Golf Program.

Package

Salary: $38,000 per year. Paid bi-weekly.

• $1,500 Education and association dues allowance.
  o Can be used for PGA Education and or PGA Dues
  o Allowance use must be approved by the Head Professional and General Manager dependent on progress in the PGA Education and review of job duties.
• Playing and practicing privileges.
• One meal while on duty
• Equipment "Staff" agreement subject to Head Professional and vendor partners.
• Limited clothing allowance will be provided subject to Head Golf Professional. Personal use discounts will be provided for other golf attire and equipment subject to Head Golf Professional approval
