Description
Boston College is seeking an energetic and dedicated Assistant Director of Recruiting Programs to join the Career Center team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Employer Engagement, the Assistant Director serves as the operational anchor of the Employer Engagement team, managing the recruiting function and day-to-day systems and workflows that deliver consistent, welcoming experiences for employers, students, and campus partners.
The Assistant Director’s operational leadership includes ensuring employers receive thoughtful and timely customer service throughout their engagement lifecycle including virtual and in-person info sessions, interviews, and coffee chats. This position also centralizes and streamlines logistics for career fairs and networking events (in partnership with BC Event Management) and oversees the employer recruiting function by providing hands-on coordination, direction, and assistance to staff and students assisting employers in setting up interview and coffee chat schedules, ensuring these events run smoothly and efficiently.
As a power user of the career management platforms (including Handshake), the Assistant Director serves as the lead for employer engagement data management and reporting; provides guidance to employer engagement staff on tracking and maintaining accurate information, and compiling and presenting reports that provide actionable, data-driven insights.
To make this work possible, the incumbent prioritizes process development and thoughtful coordination of work and delegation and training to administrative staff members, including the Recruiting Program & Career Services Assistant, along with temporary and student workers, to ensure the employer recruiting function runs smoothly.
Each staff member in the Division of Student Affairs is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $67,350 to $84,200; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
A minimum of 3–5 years of progressive professional experience within career services, university relations, corporate recruiting, or complex operations management. - The Assistant Director must possess the ability to navigate multiple priorities and employer needs in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- High proficiency with career services management software (e.g. Handshake) and knowledge of relational CRM data structures, including reporting functions and data management ability to ensure information is clearly and consistently tracked.
- Exceptional project management capabilities with a proven history of overseeing multi-stakeholder corporate events or large-scale exhibitions.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with an ability to maintain a poised, professional demeanor under pressure, when working with external constituents and with colleagues in the Career Center.
- Ability to problem solve and determine when other stakeholders need to be consulted, build systemic workflows (including with BC-approved AI tools), and strategically delegate tasks while ensuring attention to detail and responsiveness.
