The Finance Department at New Mexico State University invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor position, with an appointment starting in Fall 2026.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Position responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load, mentoring students, and service to the department, college, university, and community. Teaching will be in Risk Management, Insurance and Finance courses, and possibly introductory to business-related courses. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to an educational environment that supports learning for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Required Education and Experience: MBA or master’s degree with specialization in Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, or related field from an AACSB-accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
o An insurance broker license, RIMS-CRMP, ARM, CPCU, CLU, or CIC is desirable but not required. o Teaching experience or strong desire to teach insurance, risk management, and finance. o Professional experience in risk management, insurance, or finance fields. o Experience with operational knowledge or willingness to learn AI is a plus. o Demonstrated commitment to service.
