Summary of Role:

The Manager, Inspection is the functional leader of the Inspection team and process. With a focus on developing a scalable operation that generates high-quality deliverables, this person works with the engineering, permitting, and operations leadership team to ensure the on-time completion of installation inspections. This new leadership position is instrumental to a profitable and smoothly functioning organization in this rapidly growing business channel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop a business operation that predictably delivers high-quality inspection deliverables
  • Continually innovate the process and tools for passing jurisdictional inspections of our PV and PV+storage installations
  • Track inspection pass rates, perform root cause analysis, and maintain our jurisdictional database to document current standards and requirements
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and engineering, to build a cohesive, cross-functional strategy for success
  • Develop and implement training materials and plans and provide ongoing support and mentorship
  • Set standards and practices for the inspection operations with a focus on reducing failed inspection and improving overall cycle times to inspection pass
  • Focus on achieving excellent customer experiences in an environment focused on safety
  • Utilize reports and dashboards within Salesforce to effectively manage production pipeline
  • Develop and manage to key performance indicators that align with department and company goals
  • Plan team resourcing levels based on internal sales & installation activity forecasts
  • Be the point of contact for jurisdictional escalations and maintaining relationships
  • Be open to change, creative, optimistic, and set the example for team culture


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 8 or more years of experience in construction, survey, design or similar function in solar, electrical, or residential construction
  • 2 or moreyears of experience working in a functional or direct management position
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge in solar construction methods
  • Salesforce reporting and data analysis proficiency


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in solar PV and battery site survey, design, inspections, or construction
  • Knowledge of industry-leading best practices used for solar inspections


Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for working hours
  • Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable method
  • Able to position and move objects up to 10 pounds
  • Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency
  • The position requires travel with the potential of overnight stays between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Less than or equal to 30% travel.
  • Day to day work is completed in the office or remotely at personal computer M-F, first shift hours
