Job Summary
The Sealmaster/Hardscape Yard Assistant supports daily yard operations by safely and efficiently loading customers, preparing sealcoating and hardscape product orders, and assisting with sales of related accessories. This role works closely with yard management to ensure accurate order fulfillment, excellent customer service, and a clean, organized yard environment. The ideal candidate is physically capable, dependable, and customer-focused, with an interest in outdoor, hands-on work.

Position Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• • Load customers with sealcoating products in a safe, efficient, and professional manner
  • Sell and load SealMaster® accessories and related products
  • Assemble and stage customer hardscape orders according to order details and direction from yard management
  • Assist customers with loading hardscape materials, including pavers, wall block, and related products
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety of the yard, loading areas, and storage zones
  • Operate basic yard equipment and tools as assigned (training provided as needed)
  • Follow all safety procedures, lifting techniques, and company policies
  • Provide courteous, helpful service to customers and coworkers
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support seasonal yard operations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge

• • Basic understanding of yard operations, construction materials, or hardscape products (preferred but not required)
  • General workplace safety practices, including proper lifting techniques

Skills

• • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions and work orders
  • Effective teamwork and coordination with yard management and coworkers
  • Time management skills in a fast-paced, outdoor environment

Abilities

• • Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver products weighing up to 80 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Ability to adapt to changing workloads and seasonal demands

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in a yard, warehouse, landscaping, hardscape, or construction environment is a plus
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
  • Willingness and ability to work Saturdays and variable seasonal schedules
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including heavy lifting

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• • Work is performed primarily outdoors in a yard environment
  • Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and varying weather conditions
  • Frequent lifting, bending, twisting, standing, and walking
  • Regular handling of heavy and bulky materials (up to 80 lbs)
  • Seasonal workload fluctuations with an end-of-season layoff
