Water Systems Operator
This full-time position reports to a Water Operations Manager and is located at the Operations Center, 8600 NE 117th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98662.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
WHAT YOU WOULD DO:
Works independently or as part of a crew to repair, maintain, or construct water services, water mains, hydrants, valves, pumps control valves, chlorination systems, water distribution system piping and components, and treatment facilities. Trouble shoots distribution system and SCADA and makes corrections appropriately to the wells, booster pumps, chlorinators, etc., for proper flow controls and hydraulic needs. Installs or remove water meters, pressure reducing valves, meter boxes, remote water meters and services, locate water mains and services, and obtain water quality sample. Proficiently operates vac truck, excavator, and other heavy equipment to repair, maintain, and construct the water distribution system, water treatment facilities, while being responsible for safety issues on the job sites. Assists customers in water conservation, high consumption and water leaks on customer’s side of water service, diagnosis of thermal expansion and options for the customer to resolve issues in their plumbing system, and other water system operation duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have three years’ experience in water distribution systems, treatment, storage, SCADA, and hydraulics. High school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to read, write legibly and converse in the English language. Must be a physically able and mechanically inclined individual. Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Must have a Washington State Certification as a Cross Connection Control Specialist. Must have a Water Distribution Manager 2 Certification. Must have a Water Treatment Plant Operator 2. Must have a certified Commercial Driver’s License, Class A with tanker endorsement. Must have a First Aid Card and current Flaggers Card. Crane Card for service truck/Rigging

Water Systems Operator: $52.23/Hour
