About the Role
A reputable international financial institution is seeking a seasoned and strategic Vice President to lead the Accounting Department of its Hong Kong branch. This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, regulatory submissions, and internal controls for the branch, ensuring full compliance with Hong Kong and group-level requirements.
The role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong banking industry exposure and a proven track record of leading high‑performing finance teams in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Accounting & Finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, management reporting, and statutory accounts.
• Oversee full‑set accounts, month‑end and year‑end closing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, including HKMA, IFRS, tax filings, and other statutory reporting obligations.
• Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, internal auditors, regulators, and head office finance teams.
• Strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks, and accounting policies across the branch.
• Support senior management with financial insights, performance reviews, and business decision‑making.
• Drive continuous process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to team members.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, HKFRS, and Hong Kong regulatory reporting requirements.
• Solid experience in all‑rounded finance and accounting functions, including financial reporting, regulatory compliance, tax, and internal controls.
• Proven leadership experience in managing teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA / ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Strong analytical ability, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese.
