Responsibilities
- Use a variety of land survey instruments to support a field crew in their daily operations to gather data for various surveys including boundary, topographic, and construction layout
- Support the Crew Chief by helping to set up and operate survey equipment, including robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems, terrestrial 3D laser scanners, automatic and digital levels
- Utilize survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform survey computations
- Read and interpret various types of maps and plans with guidance from the Crew Chief
- Record accurate field notes, measurements, and sketches for land survey operations with supervision from Crew Chief
- Load and unload trucks, clean and maintain land survey equipment and supplies
- Follow company safety procedures, policies, and practices
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Valid, current driver's license required
- No prior surveying experience is required just a willingness to learn, work outdoors, and develop technical skills in a hands-on setting
- Strong interest in land surveying, construction, or civil engineering
- Able to work outdoors year-round in all types of weather conditions and environments and carry up to 80lbs
- Available to travel/stay out of town for work as needed
