UNCOMN is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer/Enterprise Architect to:
- Support system architecture design, requirements development, integration planning, and configuration management activities.
- Provide engineering expertise for mission systems across the full lifecycle from concept development through deployment, operations, and sustainment.
- Develop and maintain system architecture artifacts using UAF and DoDAF, including operational, system, service, and capability viewpoints as appropriate.
- Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering methods.
- Collaborate with customer and contractor teams to ensure interoperability, scalability, and mission alignment across systems and interfaces.
- Conduct analysis of system performance, dependencies, and risks; provide clear, actionable recommendations for optimization.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, techniques, and processes to improve system development, integration, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs), system descriptions, engineering reports, and architecture decision artifacts.
- Ensure engineering artifacts align with configuration management practices and government standards.
- Serve as a professional, credible, and approachable technical representative in client-facing environments.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Influence architectural and engineering decisions through collaboration, trust-building, and well-reasoned analysis rather than positional authority.
- Support alignment across multiple teams, helping reduce friction and improve shared understanding during transformation initiatives.
This position description outlines the core duties for this role, but it is not all-inclusive. Responsibilities may shift based on contract requirements, mission needs, or organizational objectives.
