| Physical Requirements | Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders upto 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Continuous working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy. |
| Shift | Primarily Days Monday Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, some evenings and weekends may be required due to experimentation. |
| Job Summary | The Saha Cardiovascular Research Center has an opening for a high-level and extremely knowledgeable scientist to investigate vascular diseases. Highly technical procedures and techniques involving cell culture, molecular biology, animal studies, and genomics of mouse physiology will be necessary to complete project aims. This position requires experimental design, preparing samples and train/oversee lab personnel for projects with the end result being publications and grant applications. Management of procurements and laboratory inventory. Maintenance of mouse colony and acting as the primary point of contact with the Division of Laboratory Animals. Position will involve being the primary point of contact for lab personnel when the PI is not available. Assistance with writing protocols, manuscripts, grant applications, and providing the review of literature to identify protocols necessary for cutting edge science breakthroughs will be necessary. |
