Registered Veterinary TechnicianFull-time
Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $26-30/ hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
North County Animal Hospital is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As an RVT, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing nose-to-tail care for our patients. Your work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the California Veterinary Practice Act requirements for registered veterinary technicians.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
- Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records in our PMS.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and communicate them to the veterinarians and other team members.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- One year or more veterinary technician/assistant experience required
- California Registered Veterinary Technician licensure required
- Enjoys a challenging and fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Proficient in IV catheter placement, venipuncture, intubation and IV, IM and SQ injections
- Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment
- Proficient with dental radiographs
- Proficient in ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- Dental Extraction Experience is preferred but not required
- Prioritize collaborative leadership and mentoring team members to encourage their growth and skill set.

North County Animal Hospital is a general practice located in Paso Robles focusing on primary and urgent care for dogs and cats. Our hospital has a wonderful team and a loyal client base. We are open Monday through Saturday.
Serving Paso Robles, Atascadero, San Miguel, Heritage Ranch, Creston, Santa Margarita, San Luis Obispo and King City communities.
