Job DescriptionAbout Company
Our Organization aims to improve the welfare of elders in Nigeria by promoting family and community care, thereby retaining the cultural respect for elders. It was founded in 2000 abd registered as a not-for-profit non-governmental organisation in 2001.
We began operations in 2003 and currently operate in two communities in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, providing quarterly raw food to elders aged 75 and older, bi-monthly medical checkups, and rent payments for those in need. Vulnerable elders (incapacitated or over 90 years old) receive raw food six times a year.
Period & Mode of Engagement
Part-time working 20-30 hours a week,
Remote working is possible with physical presence negotiated.
Duration
Contract begins as soon as possible for one year in the first instance, with a three-month probation period.
Primary Job Location
Iju, Akure North LGA, Ondo State.
Responsibilities
1)Manage KH's operations
• Supervise the delivery of KH's activities by the Program Associate.
• Ensure KH is compliant with all statutory regulations.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all activities to stakeholders.
• Manage KH's social media presence.
• Provide weekly and monthly reports of KH's activities to the Management Team.
• Manage communication with KH donors.
• Explore various opportunities for funding for KH.
• Ensure donations are accurately reported and acknowledged.
Requirements
• University degree in the Social Sciences or Humanities (Second class) Master's degree in the Social Sciences or Humanities
• Computer proficiency in MS Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to navigate cloud storage applications - Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
• NGO experience.
• Excellent verbal, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Good to excellent written and verbal English.
• Excellent spoken Yoruba. Iju dialect a plus. Highly organised
• Ability to work under direction and to exercise personal responsibility and autonomy to meet objectives.
• Ability to make decisions that influence the success of a project or enhance team objectives.
• Demonstrates an analytical & systematic approach to problem-solving. Ability to plan, schedule, and monitor work to meet deliverables promptly. Ability to work well under pressure while being attentive to detail.
• Ability to work well with senior management, colleagues, and the public. High degree of trustworthiness, discretion & confidentiality.
Benefits
• Maximum of N200,000 per month (pre-tax and all allowances included).
• An additional stipend for additional office visits will be negotiated.
• There will be opportunities to earn additional income from short-term projects.
Performance Review Criteria
1. Ability to deliver on the requirements of the job description.
2. Ability to produce timely & accurate weekly status reports for the Management Team.
3. Increased revenue for KH.
