Description
Seeking a strategic, knowledgeable, and innovative team member in Human Resources are of the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare. This professional will identify, develop, and facilitate training programs and initiatives to support the professional development of American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) staff; collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) on the development of programs, reference materials, and communications to support continued learning opportunities for staff; and provide support to AAP-wide projects and initiatives to ensure adult learning principles are incorporated into work activities, including equity, diversity, and inclusion; conflict of interest; and performance management and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in adult education, training and development or related discipline required, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
- At least four years’ related experience developing and coordinating live and virtual training programs, including developing training curriculum, knowledge of adult learning principles, training design, and needs assessment.
- Experience with implementing/managing leadership and/mentor programs and working in an association preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, diplomacy, project management, presentation, critical thinking, and verbal/written communication skills required, as well as a solid understanding of adult learning principles.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, take initiative, work both independently and as part of a team, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to fostering an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued and respected.
- Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; experience with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., WebEx. Teams, Zoom) and web maintenance/document collaboration site platforms (e.g., SharePoint) preferred.
- Some evening/weekend work may be required.

Hybrid work environment of 40% of work time in the Itasca, IL office per month.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $92,823.63 - $97,980.74. Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, business needs, and organizational policies. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
