Description
The Arts-in-Medicine (AIM) Program at the University of New Mexico is seeking a licensed massage therapist to join our team of artists-in-medicine as a contracted vendor.
This unique opportunity involves working as part of our Roving Rejuvenator services, where a massage therapist and musician travel together to hospital units to provide restorative chair massage and live music for healthcare staff. These sessions bring moments of calm, connection, and renewal to those who care for others every day.
Schedule and Availability
The AIM program follows an academic schedule:
Fall Semester: September through mid-December
Spring Semester: mid-January through mid-May
Shifts are 3 hours each and occur:
1:00 – 4:00 pm OR 9:00 pm – midnight, aligned with staff rounding times
1–2 shifts per week is ideal
Semester schedules are set in advance to allow therapists to maintain private practice clients
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Current State of New Mexico Massage Therapy License
Proof of professional liability insurance
Chair massage experience preferred
Professionalism, reliability, and comfort working in a hospital environment
