Position Summary

The Lead Assistant Golf Professional supports the Head Golf Professional and Golf Operations team in delivering an exceptional golf experience for members and guests. This role assists in managing daily golf shop operations, coordinating tournaments and events, providing golf instruction, and maintaining the high service standards expected at a private club. This position offers a strong opportunity for professional growth and advancement within Colonie Golf & Country Club

Experience Required

• PGA Associate or PGA Member preferred (or actively pursuing PGA Membership)
• Previous experience in golf operations at a private or public facility preferred
• Strong knowledge of golf rules and tournament operations
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings during the golf season
• Proficiency with Golf Genius software and point-of-sale systems

Essential Responsibilities

Golf Operations

• Assist with the daily management of golf shop operations including tee time management, merchandising, and point-of-sale transactions
• Provide exceptional member and guest service before, during, and after rounds
• Assist with opening and closing procedures of the golf shop
• Monitor pace of play and ensure course policies are followed

Instruction & Player Development

• Provide individual and group golf instruction to members and guests
• Assist in developing and running junior golf programs, clinics, and member instructional events
• Promote player development programs and grow participation

Tournaments & Events

• Assist with planning, organizing, and executing member tournaments and club events
• Prepare tournament materials including scorecards, pairings, rules sheets, and scoring
• Support tournament operations including scoring and results

Merchandising & Retail

• Assist with golf shop merchandising, inventory control, and vendor relations
• Maintain an attractive retail environment and assist with product displays

Member Engagement

• Build strong relationships with club members and guests
• Maintain a welcoming, professional presence at the club
• Assist in promoting club programs, events, and services
