Overview

The Lead Assistant Golf Professional at Cochecho Country Club plays a key role in all aspects of the golf operation. Reporting directly to the Head Golf Professional, this individual works collaboratively with the professional staff to ensure consistent, high‑quality member and guest experience. In the absence of the Head Golf Professional, the Lead Assistant serves as the golf department lead, helping to guide daily operations and uphold service standards.

This position supports golf operations including staff scheduling, payroll coordination, merchandising and inventory management, tournament administration, and member programming. The Lead Assistant Professional will contribute significantly to our event calendar and will receive ongoing professional development designed to prepare them for a future Head Professional role.

Experience Required

• 2-3 years of experience as an Assistant Golf Professional, preferably in a private club environment.
• PGA Class A membership required.
• Knowledge of Golf Genius Tournament Software (preferred).
• Experience providing private and group instruction.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Service‑driven, professional, and polished presentation.

Essential Responsibilities

• Serve as department lead when the Head Golf Professional is unavailable.
• Deliver exceptional service to members and guests, consistently exceeding expectations.
• Represent Cochecho Country Club professionally on and off property.
• Act as the primary point of contact for Junior Golf and all outside events.
• Assist with Men's, Ladies', and Junior programming throughout the season.
• Provide private and group instruction to members, supporting a robust teaching program.
• Engage regularly in on‑course play with members and participate in chapter and section events.
• Collaborate with the Head Golf Professional to maintain an inviting, well‑merchandised Golf Shop.
• Assist in inventory management, merchandising, and achieving sales goals.
• Help manage day‑to‑day operations including staff scheduling, payroll processes, and tournament execution.

Benefits

• Base salary: $1,400 per week for 34 weeks.
