Overview

The Lead Assistant Golf Professional plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of the golf program at The Country Club of Troy. The Lead Assistant Golf Professional will work directly with the Head Golf Professional to provide excellent service to members and guests through instruction, tournament administration, merchandising, and staff development.

Essential Responsibilities

• Establish a professional and welcoming environment for both members and guests. The operation will be customer-service driven, and it will operate at the highest level of PGA standards.
• Exhibit the same positive energy and welcoming spirit as the Head Golf Professional.
• Assist in managing the Golf Shop to provide needed services and attractive merchandise for both members and guests.
• Assist in and provide effective golf instruction for all levels of golfers (Private Lessons, Clinics, Junior Golf, etc.).
• Assist in managing all club tournaments to ensure they are well planned and executed.
• Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training for Outside Staff Service members.
• Actively work with the Head Golf Professional and Club Controller to develop an effective scheduling strategy to uphold a high-level of customer service in a cost-effective manner.

Experience Required

• PGA Class A Member (or actively pursuing membership).
• Proficient in Golf Genius, Microsoft Office, or other golf related systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Deep knowledge and passion for the game, equipment knowledge, and retail.
• Professional appearance and conduct at all times.
