- Landscape Architecture Summer Associate
Description
Seeking highly motivated individuals with experience/education in Landscape Architecture. The candidate will contribute to design work on park plans and initiatives. Work will include site visits to various Alexandria parks to collect and verify data, development of park plans and graphics, and other projects as assigned. Candidates will work independently and must take responsibility for their projects. Candidates should be familiar with AutoCAD, Adobe Software Suite, and Microsoft 365 applications. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to create plans, visual layouts, exhibits, and edit/create data within AutoCAD and the Adobe Software Suite.
Job Title: PARK PLANNING LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT SUMMER ASSOCIATE
Closing Date/Time: March 27, 2026, 5 p.m. EST
Position Dates: Start on May 25, 2026 (Flexible); End on August 21, 2026 (Flexible)
Compensation: $25.00/hr, up to $7,000.00 stipend (280 hours max)
Job Type: Part time, 75% On-site, up to 32 supervised hours per week.
Location: Alexandria, Virginia
Department: Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities Park Services/Park Planning & Capital Development
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Enrollment in a College Degree program for Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Environmental Design, or related field.
Completion of coursework in AutoCAD applications.
Working knowledge of the Adobe Software Suite.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience (2-3 years) with AutoCAD Software.
Working knowledge of Revu Bluebeam
Strong hand graphic skills.
