Position Summary
As a Instrumentation Technician you will support the repair, calibration, and certification of gas detection instruments. This role is critical to Sparus' Authorized Service & Repair Center operations and includes advanced diagnostics, quality compliance, and technical leadership.

Reports To
Service & Repair Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced repair, reprogramming, and calibration of portable gas detectors
- Certified calibration using approved gases and fixtures
- Troubleshooting electrical, sensor, mechanical, and firmware issues
- Speaking with customers to diagnose, repair and program instruments
- Maintain OEM compliant documentation and traceability
- Mentor junior technicians and support audits
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years repairing/calibrating gas detection or electronic instruments
- Strong electronics troubleshooting background
- Experience with calibration standards and gases
- High attention to detail and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior gas detection instrument experience
- Electronics repair certifications and training
- Lean service or Kanban familiarity
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Bench-based technical environment with ESD controls.
- Regular handling of small mechanical and electronic components.
- Occasional lifting to 30 lbs.
- Use of calibration gases and test chambers in controlled conditions.
Rate of Pay
- $25.00 - $30.00 (depending on experience)
