Description
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role can be based in Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Seattle, or St. Louis. This is a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.As an Institutional Investment Consulting Senior Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the range of investment services provided to a diverse range of institutional clients and collaborating with experts to build portfolios, evaluate asset managers, and analyze portfolio performance. You will support client leads or serve as a lead of your own based on your experience, knowledge, and skillset. This is a dynamic opportunity to develop deep industry knowledge while contributing to impactful client outcomes!
We will count on you to:
- Work with client staff, investment committees, and boards to understand needs, objectives and investment constraints.
- Examine and monitor developments within the economy, global capital markets, and the asset management community to communicate relevant updates to clients
- Work collaboratively with client team members to manage projects by defining objectives, making recommendations, and ensuring client deliverables are timely and represent best practices.
- Liaise with investment managers, custodians, and Mercer experts to gather and clarify client-specific data supporting service delivery.
- Support investment manager searches, investment structure reviews, asset allocation studies, new business presentations, and other investment-related activities
- Participate in, or lead, quarterly or ad-hoc client meetings
- Mentor and teach junior analysts looking to develop their skills
What you need to have:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with coursework in business or investment-related courses
- 5-10 years of relevant investment experience
- Actively pursuing or already obtained the CFA, CAIA, CIMA, or CIPM designation
- Knowledge of performance calculations, risk metrics, and portfolio construction
- Self-motivated and effective in a highly collaborative team environment
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing, dynamic setting
- Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills
- Experience presenting complex topics to clients with varying levels of sophistication, across both traditional and alternative investments
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and market conditions
- Adaptability and decisiveness
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Marsh is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $88,000 to $176,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
