Position Summary
City Care is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Manager to support key HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance. This role is responsible for ensuring strong HR systems and practices that support City Care’s mission and team. This position requires both strategic thinking and hands-on implementation. The HR Manager will oversee HR processes and compliance while also directly managing day-to-day administrative HR tasks such as recruiting coordination, onboarding, and employee records.
The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional who can build strong systems, ensure compliance, and support managers in leading healthy teams, while being comfortable operating as a department of one.
Requirements
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
- Lead and manage recruitment efforts to attract and hire strong candidates aligned with City Care’s mission.
- Manage job postings, screen applicants, and coordinate interview processes.
- Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and support strategic hiring decisions.
- Maintain accurate hiring records and ensure a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience.
HR Systems & Compliance:
- Serve as the primary HR administrator and compliance lead for the organization.
- Work with HR Software to ensure smooth payroll processing, timekeeping, benefits administration, and compliance with HR regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
- Assist in maintaining HR policies and internal procedures to align with best practices and legal standards.
- Maintain accurate employee records and support HR audits.
- Handle unemployment and workers’ compensation claims, including filing, tracking, and responding to inquiries in compliance with regulations.
- Lead employee offboarding processes, including exit interviews and documentation.
Performance Management & Employee Relations:
- Support performance management processes, including annual reviews, goals, and professional development plans.
- Provide coaching and HR guidance to managers regarding performance issues, documentation, and employee development.
- Address employee relations matters, conflict resolution, investigations, and fostering a positive workplace environment.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, including responsibility for HR compliance and employee relations.
- SHRM certification strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing HR software, systems, policies, and compliance processes.
- Familiarity with recruitment processes and performance management practices.
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment law.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High level of discretion when handling confidential information.
- Comfortable operating as a hands-on HR leader responsible for both strategy and day-to-day execution.
