Overview

The golf course at Heath Golf & Yacht Club opened in October 2020. Designed by renowned architect, Roy Bechtol, the 18-hole championship golf course is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship and a passion for the sport.  Heath is located on the eastern shoreline of the 24,000 acre Lake Ray Hubbard. Heath is primarily located in Rockwall County, the wealthiest county in Texas and is approximately 30 minutes east of downtown Dallas.

 

The small, affluent City of Heath is primarily located in Rockwall County and crosses over into the northern portion of Kaufman County. The two counties are the two fastest growing counties in Texas.

 

The course is located in the 800 acre master planned lakefront community of Heath Golf & Yacht Club. The community currently has 620 homes, and is planned for 1236 homes at full buildout.

 

In addition to golf, The Club offers tennis, pickle ball, a swimming pool, a fitness center, and elegant yet relaxing dining. The Club's friendly membership and professional staff hope to make you feel right at home, whether you live in the neighborhood or are the guest of a member.  The Club currently has approximately 250 golf members.  The Club intends to add an additional 9 hole (par 3) course in 2027. The Club has a projected cap of 600 members, with a few other provisions that will be discussed further during the interview process.

 

The Club has active Men's and Women's golf associations.

 

The Head Golf Professional will be responsible for overseeing and managing golf operations and services at The Club, working with the ownership to further a strong culture of family, friendship, and professionalism throughout the club. Visibility and engagement are critical success factors for this role. The Golf Professional is expected to provide exceptional levels of service, develop and implement innovative programs, and maintain high member satisfaction.

Experience Required

• PGA of America Class A Member in good standing.
• 3 years of experience as a Lead Assistant or similar role at a private club of similar stature.
• Head Golf Professional experience is a plus.
• Outstanding leadership, management, and delegation skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work well under pressure, coordinating multiple tasks at a given time.
• Responsible for maintaining good conduct and safe working habits.
• Proficient in operating tee sheets, event management platform; club-based POS/accounting/member billing systems; as well as other applications, i.e. email, internet, database, etc.

Essential Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage golf operations and services, working with ownership and the Agronomist/Superintendent.
• Develop and implement innovative programs, events, and activities to retain and grow membership levels.
• Serve as a skilled instructor and has respectable playing ability.
• Balance instructional needs with operational needs.
• Develop and manage tournament schedules and golf activities for all members and guests, including children's golf camps.
• Drive high member satisfaction through exceptional golf experience.
• Work closely and respectfully with ownership and management team
• Lead, mentor, and/or coach golf management staff.
• Execute modern management "best practices" of a high-performing club.
• Enforce The Club's policies in a firm, but non-prejudicial manner.
• Report directly to ownership.
• Perform all other golf-related duties as assigned by ownership.
