OverviewThe Head Golf Professional will be the operational and cultural leader of the golf experience at TPC River's Bend, a prestigious private golf club and licensed member of the TPC Network in Maineville, Ohio. This role is responsible for directing all golf-related activities, ensuring an exceptional, personalized experience for members and guests that aligns with the standards of the PGA TOUR, the club's owner (Arcis Golf), and the championship heritage of the Arnold Palmer-designed course. The Head Golf Professional will leverage the club's world-class facilities, including the 12-acre PGA TOUR-caliber practice facility and the newly added Golf Simulator Lounge, to drive revenue, membership satisfaction, and the club's reputation as a premier destination.
Experience Required
Qualifications and Experience
- Required: Must be a Class A Member of the PGA of America (or equivalent status).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Head Golf Professional or a comparable leadership role at a high-end private club or resort, preferably within the TPC Network or a similar organization.
- Proven record of accomplishment in managing profitable retail operations and meeting financial targets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a large golf staff.
- Extensive experience with tournament operations, golf instruction, and utilization of modern golf technology (e.g., TrackMan, launch monitors).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an unwavering commitment to five-star customer service.
Essential Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Golf Operations & Course Management
- Oversee and manage all daily golf operations, including the starting, marshalling, and fee collection procedures, ensuring efficient and timely play.
- Develop, promote, and manage a robust calendar of member events, weekly games, and corporate outings.
- Ensure the Arnold Palmer-designed, 7,180-yard championship course is presented in a championship-ready state and that course etiquette and rules are strictly maintained.
- Act as the primary point of contact and lead administrator for major professional tournaments hosted at the facility (e.g., LPGA Kroger Queen City Championship, as applicable).
Retail and Financial Management
- Manage all facets of the award-winning Golf Shop retail operation, including purchasing, inventory control, display, and pricing of golf equipment, apparel, and merchandise.
- Establish and monitor the annual budget for golf operations and the Golf Shop, striving to meet or exceed financial goals and profitability targets set by Arcis Golf.
- Manage POS systems and accounting practices related to golf revenue.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and supervise a team of Assistant Golf Professionals, golf instructors, and support staff (e.g., caddies, cart attendants, starters).
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to ensure the delivery of high-quality, personalized service-a core expectation of a TPC/Arcis-operated private club.
- Oversee the professional development of the golf staff, encouraging their pursuit of PGA education and credentials.
Instruction and Player Development
- Lead the club's instructional program, providing private lessons, clinics, and junior golf camps for a diverse membership base.
- Effectively utilize the state-of-the-art practice amenities, including the 12-acre short-game area and the TrackMan simulators in the new Golf Simulator Lounge, to deliver best-in-class instruction.
- Promote the club's commitment to growing the game among all skill levels, from beginners (via family tees) to elite players.
Member and Community Relations
- Act as a visible and approachable ambassador for the club, fostering positive relations with the membership, staff, and the local community.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Clubhouse staff to ensure a seamless member experience between the golf course and the 32,000 sq. ft. Clubhouse amenities (dining, banquets, private events).
