Location:   Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Services, Mackay Hospital & Health Service 

Position Status:   Permanent Full Time (80hrs p.f.)

Your opportunity 

• Provide and maintain efficient, effective and equitable surgical services within the Mackay Hospital and Health Service, co-operating as necessary with other departments and outside agencies to ensure that Department of Surgery integrates effectively within the hospital, community health service, and the wider community. 
• Advise on surgical services as required, ensuring co-ordinated provision of care delivery by all staff within the Department. 
   

Your role 

• Provide supervision and education to members of the workforce. 
• Participate in the review of procedures individually and as part of a team. 
• Participate in the development and implementation of organisational processes that improve health care services, development and implementation of safety systems, engagement in improvement initiatives and related training. 
• Provide a high standard of surgical care to patients of MHHS.  This includes provision of acute in-patient and outpatient care, participation in the 24 hour on-call roster and weekend on call and other duties as determined by the Director of Surgery.

Vaccine Preventable Disease Requirements 

• It is a condition of this role for the employee to be and remain vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the attached role description.
