Description
SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the general supervision and direction of the Deputy Superintendent, the focus for this position will be on working with school principals to support their work with teachers, support staff, parents and others in the community to create learning communities that maximize the personal, creative, and academic performance of students and adults. This position directly supervises principals K-12, along with an administrative secretary and oversees district programs and departments. This position is a part of the Administrative Leadership Team and serves on the Superintendent’s Council.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in educational administration or appropriate related field; earned doctorate preferred.
Successful experience as a principal or K-12 district level supervisor, director or executive director.
Successful leadership experience in public school administration and supervision.
Demonstrated ability to work with people.
Experience, understanding and sensitivity in working in a multi-cultural and ethnically diverse school surroundings, with the ability to communicate effectively with all cultural groups in the community and school environment, evidence of experience and training needed to perform the functions described in the essential functions.
Experience working with K-12 curriculum issues and demonstrated working knowledge of standardized testing and the design and implementation of alternative assessment.
