Position Overview:
The Events Experience Manager- Car Shows will work with the Events Operations Manager to plan, organize, and execute exceptional event experiences. As the Events Experience Manager-Car Shows, you will be a vital part of our team, responsible for creating immersive experiences that promote our mission. This role requires a creative, organized, and result-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering memorable events that align with our brand values. The Events Experience Manager will manage auto show programs, consisting of 20+ shows per year, as well as specialty shows on the GCM campus. The ideal candidate has a strong background in event management, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive event strategies, aligning with GCM’s brand identity and business objectives.
Manage partner museum expectations in implementing and supporting their goals. Holds partner museum and associated vendors accountable for deliverables by overseeing their performance. Maintains responsibility for effectively communicating strategic directions to external partners.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing and external partners, to ensure the seamless execution of events.
Source and manage event vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee event logistics, including AV setup, and transportation.
Develops or modifies the video, print, digital, or other creative assets that support the different program areas of responsibility, including auto show display properties.
Develop and manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective event planning.
Integrates new technologies into the program to increase the return on investment and consumer engagement with the brand.
Utilize social media and marketing channels to promote events and maximize attendance.
Lead event registration, attendee management, and post-event evaluations to measure success and gather feedback.
Communicates the goals and strategies of the auto shows and events to GCM staff and leverages their resources as necessary, including staff support, vehicle use, and local retailer participation.
Determines variety of aspects of auto shows and events, such as space and display formats/designs, materials logistics, event staffing, and live presentations.
Establish relationships with key industry partners and local organizations to enhance event reach and impact.
Stay current with event trends, technologies, and competitor activities to keep GCM at the forefront of event innovation.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.
5+ years of event planning experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
Proven track record of planning and executing successful events with a focus on delivering memorable experiences.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed for event execution.
Excellent relationship-building skills.
Strong leadership and staff development skills, ability to effectively manage at least one (1) direct report
Excellent ability to effectively communicate with all levels within GCM, our partners, and our communities, both verbally and in writing.
Highly skilled at cross functional efforts and teamwork.
Understanding of budgeting concepts and guidelines.
Knowledge of a community network and nonprofit operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and customer relation/communication skills (verbal and written) as well as ability to adapt to change.
Tact and diplomacy to gain cooperation and problem-solving and negotiation skills to overcome daily problematic customer, vendor, or employee situations.
Additional Responsibilities
Establishes and maintains business relationships with auto show partners.
Maintains knowledge of competing auto show and event consumer engagement programs.
Expected Salary Range: $50,000 - 55,000 salaried
Additional compensation: Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses and benefits.
