UK King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY invites a skilled full-time Emergency Medicine Physician to join the team as they open their advanced, next‑generation Emergency Department. Highlights: Generous sign-on & start date bonus (full-time) Full-time status consists of ten 12-hour shifts Best Place to work in Kentucky in 2024 Generous hourly rate and night shift differential Stable team with high retention rate Qualifications: EM residency trained and BC/BE through ABEM/AOBEM Position Profile : 65,000 annual ED volume 86 treatment areas, 60 private rooms 72 hours of physician coverage daily; 12-hour shifts Physicians have Scribe documentation support 48 hours of APP coverage daily; 12-hour shifts Daily APP coverage provided in the main ED EPIC EMR Stroke Center with 24-hour stroke team - Ashland, KY

UK King's Daughters Medical Center, located in downtown Ashland, KY, is a 455-bed hospital offering comprehensive care across a wide range of specialties, including heart and vascular, orthopedics, oncology, digestive health, stroke/neurology, and maternity services with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In June 2025, the hospital opened a brand-new Emergency Department designed to maximize patient privacy, comfort, and safety. The state-of-the-art facility includes 86 treatment areas, 60 private rooms, four trauma bays, two CT scanners, a dedicated behavioral health unit, isolation rooms with decontamination showers, a STAT lab, and specialized EMS and first responder workspaces. A Provider-in-Triage service helps ensure timely care for patients with less critical needs.
