- Drug Pricing Associate
Description
The Drug Pricing Associate will support a broad range of matters across counseling, transactional, and litigation work with a focus on drug pricing, government pricing programs, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates will bring specialized experience in this area and the intellectual curiosity and work ethic to grow into a long-term leadership position within the group.
Responsibilities
Advise pharmaceutical and life sciences clients on drug pricing strategy, government pricing programs (Medicaid, 340B, Medicare Part B/D), and regulatory compliance
Review and analyze standard operating procedures for government pricing calculations
Draft and negotiate drug pricing and distribution contracts, including wholesaler, pharmacy, PBM, and managed care agreements
Support asset and product divestiture transactions involving transition services agreements, rebate allocations, and in-stream pricing obligations
Provide subject matter expertise in support of False Claims Act litigation and government pricing disputes
Support administrative and regulatory law challenges relating to 340B program compliance, audit disputes, and state drug pricing regulations
Collaborate with senior partners and cross-practice colleagues on complex, multi-faceted client matters
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school; strong academic credentials required
3–5 years of experience at a law firm or in-house with a focus on pharmaceutical drug pricing, government pricing, or healthcare regulatory matters
Familiarity with Medicaid Drug Rebate Program, 340B Drug Pricing Program, Medicare reimbursement, and/or related regulatory frameworks strongly preferred
Experience with pharmaceutical contracting (PBMs, wholesalers, managed care)
Litigation or dispute resolution experience involving drug pricing or False Claims Act matters
Superior research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
$295,000- $415,000. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith’s pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
