About the Role
Law Bulletin Media is seeking a dynamic, Illinois-licensed attorney to lead our Public Notice Network. This critical leadership role involves managing the full lifecycle of legal notice publication, ensuring compliance with Illinois circuit court requirements, and driving the operational success of a cornerstone business unit. You will be the architect of your team, responsible for hiring, training, and mentoring staff in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership: Oversee daily operations of the public notice department, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all publications.
Team Management: Direct the hiring, training, and performance management of public notice staff to maintain high service standards.
Legal Oversight: Serve as resource for department on legal issues and conduct legal research to ensure all notices meet evolving statutory requirements and court rules.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison for legal professionals and court officials, utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills to maintain key relationships and resolve complex inquiries.
Qualifications
Licensure: Active license to practice law in Illinois is required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in litigation and/or estate planning and/or legal aid assistance.
Leadership: Proven track record in a management or supervisory role.
Preferred Assets:
Familiarity with submitting public notices to Illinois circuit courts and the publication process.
Prior experience in Legal Aid or public interest law.

Essential Functions
Strategic Leadership: Provide direct supervision to public notice managers and staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and professional growth.
Legal Compliance & Quality Assurance: Serve as the final authority on notices requiring legal expertise; monitor all submissions for precision and adherence to Illinois and Cook County statutory requirements.
Subject Matter Expertise: Maintain an exhaustive understanding of public notice laws, translating complex legal requirements into actionable guidance for staff and Law Bulletin Media clients.
Business Development: Identify growth opportunities and manage high-level marketing and customer communications to cultivate long-term client relationships.
Judicial Liaison: Act as the primary company representative to Court Deputy Clerks regarding notice procedures and compliance.
Product Innovation: Collaborate with the Development team to provide feedback on proprietary publishing software, ensuring new features align with legal standards and user needs.
Requirements
Position Qualifications
Education & Licensure: Juris Doctor (JD) and an active Illinois State Bar license are required.
Professional Experience:
Proven track record in a management or supervisory capacity managing teams.
Direct experience with the submission of public notices.
Preferred: Practice history in Litigation or Estate Planning; background in Legal Aid or specific knowledge of Cook County Circuit Court procedures.
