Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and energetic Director of Golf to enhance the golfer experience, grow annual members, manage our public play, leagues, and outings, and elevate our Public golf course. The Director of Golf will be responsible for executing strategic and tactical plans, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. This role requires strong leadership to inspire and guide a diverse team, fostering a positive and growth-oriented work environment. A proven track record in golf promotion and an understanding of golf course operations are essential for success in this position.
Experience Required
Association with PGA of america with golf experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of Department Head level experience in a golf operation
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and embraces technology.
• Knowledge of pos and marketing systems .
• Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
• Must be able to provide outstanding customer service to internal and external guests.
• Must have knowledge of computers and training techniques.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Ability to exercise judgment in evaluating situations and in making sound decisions.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and cordial behavior.
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
• Excellent communication, organization, written and guest relations skills.
• Strong organizational, project management, mathematic and detail orientation skills, with the ability to multi-task in order to meet a variety of deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a can-do positive attitude.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Refined verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays. This is a weekend intensive business - the leader needs to be on site during peak demand times.
Essential Responsibilities
• Oversee the overall operations of Golf operating departments - pro shop, on course staff and grounds.
• Ensure full compliance with Management company operating controls, SOP's, policies, procedures and standards.
• Handling complaints and overseeing the service recovery procedures.
• Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the Club's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget.
• Manage on-going profitability of the property, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
• Deliver on budget goals and set other short and long-term strategic goals for the property.
• A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies
• Closely monitor business reports on a daily basis and take decisions accordingly.
• Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Golf departments are on target and accurate.
• Maximizing revenue through innovative promotions, outstanding sales processes, and dynamic pricing models.
• Act as a final decision maker in hiring key team members.
• Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads on a daily basis.
• Manage and develop the team to ensure career progression and development.
• Be accountable for the responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.
• Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
• Embraces TKo's Culture of CARE and creates this culture within the property.
• Actively engaged in the sales process and takes part in new client acquisition along with the sales team.
• Responsible for operating the property within the Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal and regulatory requirements.
