- Design Engineer
Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and appropriately experienced Design Engineer to join our Infrastructure Planning team. Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Planning, the position is responsible for delivering high quality engineering, drafting and design services, including investigation, design and preparation of construction plans for civil infrastructure projects in line with Council’s Delivery Program and Operational Plan.
The successful applicant will provide a high level of support to the manager in the provision of strategic engineering design advice and ensuring the section’s goals and objectives are achieved.
Council will consider both full time and part time (minimum 3 days per week) working arrangements, and will discuss further with the preferred candidates and interview stage.

- A full time annual salary range of $98,100 to $112,600 (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.

Requirements
To be successful you will bring

- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven excellent project investigation and design skills associated with civil engineering operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of land development planning and civil construction methods.
- Demonstrated professional experience in managing design projects, budgets and people in order to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to brief and manage service providers including consultants, contractors and temporary staff.
- Proven excellent interpersonal skills, including high level ability to negotiate and consult on complex matters and provide technical advice and services through effective written and verbal communication.
- Proven excellent skills and competence in the use of computer applications such as Magnet, 12d (or similar) and Autocad, system analysis and studies and competence in use of Microsoft office software.
