Pilot Seniors Counselling Program - Community Housing | Goulburn, NSW
BaptistCare is inviting EOIs from suitably qualified contractor counsellors to partner in an innovative pilot counselling program supporting older people living in community (social and affordable) housing in Goulburn.
This pilot offers a unique opportunity to deliver onsite, communitybased counselling to seniors who may otherwise face barriers accessing timely mental health support. The service aims to strengthen wellbeing, independence, and social connection within a vibrant seniors housing community, with strong potential to grow over time.

About Clinton Place
BaptistCare Clinton Place is a vibrant community of seniors in the heart of the Goulburn, featuring 66 one-bedroom and 12 two-bedroom units. Gatherings and events are often held in our community hall, such as craft days, chair yoga, games and guest speakers. Clinton Place features beautifully landscaped gardens including a community vegetable garden and BBQ area and provides a peaceful and welcoming environment.
About the Opportunity
Contractor counsellors will provide short–medium term counselling to older people onsite at a BaptistCare community housing complex, working collaboratively with BaptistCare teams to deliver personcentred, traumainformed and culturally safe care.
- Initial commitment: ~0.5 day per week (approximately 3 counselling sessions)
- Growth potential: Up to 1 full day per week, subject to demand and pilot outcomes
- Setting: Onsite, communitybased environment
- Referrals: Coordinated through BaptistCare Housing team, with clear governance and escalation pathways

Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
- Practitioners who hold relevant tertiary qualifications (counselling, social work, psychology, or related discipline)
- Have experience working with older people, including issues such as ageing, grief, loss, isolation, transitions, complex mental health, or historical trauma
- Practice in a traumainformed, strengthsbased and culturally responsive manner
- Are confident delivering counselling in community or homebased settings
- Bring experience in community services, community housing or aged care (highly regarded)
Contractor Requirements
- Current ABN and ability to invoice independently
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance
- Willingness to obtain (or already hold):
- National Police Check
- Working With Children Check (Medicare or NDIS registration is not required).
