Robert Half is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected company. The Controller oversees all financial operations including supervising and performing core accounting functions such as financial reporting, timekeeping, billing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll. The Controller will lead the overall financial planning and management efforts. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Philadelphia region.

Responsibilities:

• Leads and supervises the day-to-day operations of the accounting department
• Drives the planning and execution of the annual budget
• Oversees all financial and tax reporting
• Manages general ledger and trust accounting activities
• Supports billing and collections to ensure timely cash flow
• Monitors and manages cash flow operations
• Maintains banking relationships and reviews daily bank deposits
• Ensures trust accounts remain fully compliant with all regulations and requirements
• Reviews and approves accounts payable
• Assigns projects and guides staff to ensure accuracy, compliance, and high-quality work

Requirements

The ideal Controller candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA preferred.

Other requirements for the Financial Controllerposition include and are not limited to:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience,
• Proven experience leading and supervising teams
• Hands-on experience with legal billing software or comparable accounting systems
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
• Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent workflow organization and time‑management skills
